8 Movies That Are Just Plain Weird

Have you ever watched a movie where it just doesn’t make sense? Yet you keep going on with it just to find out how it ends. And then the ending comes, the credits roll in and you still have no clue what the movie was about or whether the main character will have a happy ending.  Whereas, one of the main reasons you decided to watch this movie was because it was recommended by a friend or was deemed popular and a mind opening experience by reviews online. Have no fear, there are over seven billion people living on this planet, there is definetely someone out there that feels exactly the same way.

However, if you think about it, time wasn’t really wasted on that two-hour movie. It might have opened your eyes to aspects that are either shushed down by society or considered a taboo. Everything you read, watch and listen to is a learning experience. But that doesn’t change the fact that there are some weird, explainable by few movies out there.

Here’s a list of some of the weirdest movies that will leave you going uhmm?

Possession (1981)

No, it’s not a movie where a girl is possessed by an evil entity. Regardless of the name, the movie seems to be talking about the possession of the mind. When a man returns home after the war to find his wife asking for a divorce. He, at first, believes she might be having an affair, but as he digs deep, and as his wife’s behavior changes, he uncovers something much more mysterious going on.

Enemy (2013)

Is this now, or in the past? This movie makes absolutely no sense. When a college professor stumbles upon a movie where the actor looks exactly like him. He investigates and things get a lot weirder.

The Lobster (2015)

Set in a futuristic dystopia where if you can’t find a partner, you must check in at a hotel where you get the chance to meet the love of your life. However, you only have limited time to do so, and with limited people. If time runs up, they turn you into an animal. Yep, you read that right.

Starry Eyes (2014)

Becoming a star comes with sacrifices in Hollywood. No, we’re not talking about having paparazzi following you around all day long and false rumors written about you every hour. The true price of becoming a star is showcased in this motion picture, oddly as it seems, this may actually not be too far from reality.

The Neon Demon (2016)

If you read a lot and stake up on fashion magazines every month. Then you very well know (or should know) that the fashion industry isn’t as pretty and glamorous as they seem. When a young girl moves to L.A. to follow her dream of being a model, the reality of what goes on in the fashion industry hits her like a storm.

Battle Royale (2000)

Deemed as the original ‘Hunger Games’. In a dystopian world where it’s completely okay for the government to take a bunch of kids, place them on an Island, throw in some weapons and tell them to kill each other as some sort of an experiment is quite fascinating really. Human instincts are the main theme in this movie. And a lot of blood, gore and terrible death-acting sequences. Just make sure to get English subtitles.

Creep (2014)

Well, I think you know what this movie is about just by the title. When a guy answers to an online ad for someone looking to film a video for his unborn child, things start getting weirder and weirder by the minute.

Last Shift (2014)

The mind can be a weird escape at times. A woman has newly joined the police force and her first duty is to oversee the last shift in a police station that will relocate elsewhere. But this is no ordinary police station, and the night is long.
